Joseph Mansell: Vanda orchid

The Joseph Mansell printing company created this lithograph of Vanda teres climbing on the branch of a tree after a drawing also made at the company. It appeared in Henry F. C. Sander's four volume work, Reichenbachia: Orchids Illustrated and Described (1886-95).

A few facts about Vanda teres
1. It's a climbing orchid.
2. Plants are found in India, Nepal, the Himalayas, and southeast Asia.
3. Flowers are three to four inches across.
4. Vanda Teres is the name of a 1975 French movie about a child who grows up on a rubber plantation in the immediate aftermath of World War II.
